Hey there my tiny group of watchers! As the title suggests, updates on how my life is going.
I am in high school and in one of the Gifted&Talented programs for writing there. The people are nice as well as smart; big improvement over last year when everyone was lumped together and I had about three friends.
I am Sher-locked. Only way I can really put it. It's only been a week and it's become one of my obsessions (although I can't draw anything at all. I'll practice and stare at the titlecard and various screenshots for a while.). It's also been the push that got me into reading the original books. They're pretty fantastic if all of Conan Doyle's writing is like A Study in Scarlet. What's really great is I see the parallels between the show and the book, and now I'll watch and say something along the lines of "Oh! That was the thing with the other thing from that place! Except not!". On a slightly related note, I'm going to go strictly no-pairings. Just watching the show, John is the brother that Sherlock should have had (seeing as Mycroft is, well, Mycroft. And I don't understand why people would pair Mycroft and Lestrade. It just doesn't make sense to me.)
I still like Doctor Who as much as ever. My fanart is mostly of the TARDIS, Weeping Angels in a strange stick-figure-like form, and the Daleks. (I can do those from memory now. Maybe I should take a couple days off from DW and Sherlock...)
Also, I've found a friend who likes Doctor Who! And Star Wars! I'm next to him in one class (we're in tables of six or seven) and our entire table likes Sherlock now (converted as of last week when I found the episodes. He took another week but we convinced him when we told him he looked like Mycroft. And he does, with a tiny bit of tweaking. He's watching them this weekend. Hopefully.)
UPDATE: Nope, he forgot. Next weekend (they are an hour and a half each.)
My drawing has improved greatly. Recognizable proportionality at last. It's mostly anime-style faces for now- still practicing other styles. If I can find a scanner or get some photographs I'll start uploading.
